Poll Hours Come First
Mississippi Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
Polls open at 7:00 a.m. and close at 7:00 p.m.
Those two times frame the whole day for every voter in the state.
Plan your trip to the polls inside that window.
Give yourself time to get there, stand in line, and cast your ballot.
If You Are in Line at 7 p.m., Stay in Line
This is the rule every Mississippi voter should know before Election Day.
Any voter in line at 7:00 p.m. is legally entitled to cast a ballot.
Being in line at closing time protects your right to vote that day.
So if you arrive and the line is long, take your place in line before 7:00 p.m.
Stay in line and cast your ballot.
Check Your Own Sample Ballot Before You Go
The My Election Day portal gives address specific information.
That includes a sample ballot for the voter own address.
Looking at your sample ballot ahead of time lets you see what will be in front of you at the polls.
You can take your time with it at home, with no line behind you.
YallVote.ms is the state voter information site, and it is the place Secretary Michael Watson and his office point voters for Election Day information.
More voter service coverage is in our News section, and the front page at Urban City Podcast carries the latest updates.
